ZVS/ZCS Vienna rectifier topology for high power applications

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2019
This paper focuses on the study of a soft‐switched unidirectional boost‐type rectifier employing a snubber circuit, used as a front‐end converter stage in high‐power applications. The proposed rectifier operates with soft switching which results in high efficiency and low cost.

Language machines: Toward a linguistic anthropology of large language models

open access: yesJournal of Linguistic Anthropology, Volume 36, Issue 1, May 2026.
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) challenge long‐standing assumptions in linguistics and linguistic anthropology by generating human‐like language without relying on rule‐based structures. This introduction to the special issue Language Machines calls for renewed engagement with LLMs as socially embedded language technologies.

Control and simulation design of a cascaded single-phase VIENNA switching converter based on small signal modeling

open access: yes矿业科学学报, 2020
In order to avoid using the heavy and expensive line frequency transformer in the traditional high-voltage mining AC driver, and considering that the mining fan does not need energy feedback, a three-phase rectifier consisting of three star connected ...

Prognostication of Liver Disease Patients via the WFUMB ‘Rule‐of‐4’ Algorithm Using SSI‐2D‐SWE‐Based Liver Stiffness Measurement

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (WFUMB) guidance update 2024 proposed a ‘rule‐of‐4’ using ARFI liver stiffness measurement (LSM) to stratify the risk of decompensation events. This rule identifies advanced chronic liver disease (ACLD) at a threshold of ≥ 13 kPa and indicates a high probability of ...

Single-stage modified Vienna rectifier SEPIC AC-DC LED driver

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal
This paper presents an innovative approach by combining a modified first-stage Vienna rectifier with a single-stage SEPIC converter. The proposed Vienna rectifier structure significantly reduced the switch stress. This allows the use of switches with low

Feed-forward Space Vector Modulation for Single-Phase Multilevel Cascade Converters with any DC voltage ratio [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Modulation techniques for multilevel converters can create distorted output voltages and currents if the DC link voltages are unbalanced. This situation can be avoided if the instantaneous DC voltage error is not taken into account in the modulation ...

Research on VIENNA rectifier QPR control and soft start

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract The principle and operation of the VIENNA rectifier is examined and the VIENNA mathematical model is developed. To address the issue that the three-phase VIENNA rectifier’s double PI controller finds it challenging to attain both rapidity and accuracy, a double closed-loop control approach consisting of inner loop quasi ...

Turnout and Invalid Voting in Brazilian Municipal Elections: A Runoff Voting System Tale

open access: yesScottish Journal of Political Economy, Volume 73, Issue 2, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper assesses the impact of Brazil's hybrid mayoral voting system on voters' choices and examines the shift in blank, null, and turnout between the first and second rounds. Using fixed‐effects and RDD techniques over 5570 municipalities between 2000 and 2020, this study shows that runoff voting generates more abstention and invalid ...
