An Efficient Algorithm to Select Reference Views for Virtual View Synthesis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
View synthesis is one of the key techniques for generating immersive media. Virtual view synthesis techniques require considerable input views to provide a wide viewing space to users, such as 360 virtual reality. However, the computational complexity is

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

A Framework for Image Alignment of TerraSAR-X Images Using Fractional Derivatives and View Synthesis Approach

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Systems, 2018
Conventional integer order differential operators suffer from poor feature detection accuracy and noise immunity, which leads to image misalignment.

Synthesis from specifications : basic concepts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
The need has evolved for a synthesis tool at the computer system level. SpecSyn is one such tool. Basically, it will view the world as a set of chips communicating via protocols.

Depth Assisted Full Resolution Network for Single Image-based View Synthesis

open access: yes, 2017
Researches in novel viewpoint synthesis majorly focus on interpolation from multi-view input images. In this paper, we focus on a more challenging and ill-posed problem that is to synthesize novel viewpoints from one single input image.

24/7 place recognition by view synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), 2015
We address the problem of large-scale visual place recognition for situations where the scene undergoes a major change in appearance, for example, due to illumination (day/night), change of seasons, aging, or structural modifications over time such as buildings being built or destroyed.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
