Urban developmental environments alter tadpole phenotypes depending on origin

Urbanisation has rapidly altered the ecological and evolutionary contexts for many species. Using a reciprocal transplant experiment with frog larvae, we find that urban environments can alter morphological, developmental and behavioural traits at both ecological and evolutionary scales.

Long‐Term Impact of the Largest Environmental Disaster in Latin America (Fundão Dam Failure) on Microbial Communities in Lakes of the Doce River Basin, Brazil

The collapse of the Fundão dam caused long‐term alterations in the microbiome of lakes in the Doce River basin, with microbial communities closely associated with heavy metals originating from the mining tailings. The findings also highlight potential microbial groups for biomonitoring and bioremediation efforts.
