Ochratoxin A Management in Vineyards by Lobesia botrana Biocontrol [PDF]
Grape berries attacked by Lobesia botrana larvae are more easily infected by Aspergillus section Nigri (black aspergilli) ochratoxigenic species. Two-year field trials were carried out in Apulia (Italy) to evaluate a bioinsecticide control strategy against L. botrana and the indirect effect on reducing ochratoxin A (OTA) contamination in vineyards.

Irrigation management in vineyards
Grapes, valued at nearly $6 billion annually, are one of the highest value fruit crops in the United States. They are commonly grown in Mediterranean climatic conditions with dry summers that are dependent upon irrigation for sustained fruit yield and quality.

Microbiome of vineyard soils is shaped by geography and management [PDF]
Abstract Background Despite their importance as a reservoir of biodiversity, the factors shaping soil microbial communities and the extent by which these are impacted by cultivation are still poorly understood. Using 16S rRNA gene and ITS sequencing, we characterized the soil microbiota of vineyards and of

Prediction of Nitrogen Dosage in ‘Alicante Bouschet’ Vineyards with Machine Learning Models
Vineyard soils normally do not provide the amount of nitrogen (N) necessary for red wine production. Traditionally, the N concentration in leaves guides the N fertilization of vineyards to reach high grape yields and chemical composition under the ...

The management of Phomopsis viticola in Tarnave vineyards
Phomopsis viticola, in poorly managed vineyards, can produce a lot of damage due to its year-to-year infection pattern. In combination with a high spore reserve from the previous year, this causes reduced grape yields. This study aims to assess the Phomopsis viticola attack in Tarnave vineyards during May-July 2020. The data (frequency and intensity of

Although grapevine is a drought-tolerant species, it has elevated waterrequirements to complete its growth cycle, which, in the end, coincides with thedriest months of the year. As a result, irrigation is increasingly being applied tovineyards worldwide.
