We report an efficient method for late‐stage installation of “clickable” alkyne groups into diverse (hetero)arenes. Using a dual‐ligand palladium catalyst that combines an NASA ligand with an N‐heterocycle, an acrylate unit bearing a terminal alkyne can be introduced via nondirected C─H activation.

Hypervalent Iodine‐Mediated Synthesis of Sulfones Using Organozinc Pivalates and Sulfinate Salts
A general protocol for sulfone synthesis via sulfonyl‐containing hypervalent iodine reagents and organozinc pivalates is described. The method is practical, provides a broad scope of sulfone in moderate to high yield. bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane‐sulfones are also disclosed and a one‐pot synthesis of Diels–Alder adduct is presented. Sulfones are key motifs in

Relative Rates of Metal-Free Azide-Alkyne Cycloadditions: Tunability over 3 Orders of Magnitude. [PDF]
The thermal (3 + 2) dipolar azide-alkyne cycloaddition, proceeding without copper or strained alkynes, is an underutilized ligation with potential applications in materials, bioorganic, and synthetic chemistry.

Organophotocatalytic synthesis of phosphoramidates
We describe the use of visible light in conjunction with an organic dye for the synthesis of phosphoramidates. Cross dehydrogenative coupling reactions between phosphites and amines are reported using organic dyes and light as catalysts for the first ...
