Mutagenicity of vinyl compounds in salmonella typhimurium
Teratogenesis, Carcinogenesis, and Mutagenesis, 1981AbstractEighteen compounds structurally related to the mutagenic carcinogen vinyl chloride have been tested for mutagenicity in five strains of Salmonella typhimurium. Acrolein, acrolein diethylacetal, acrylonitrile, allyl alcohol, allyl bromide, crotonaldehyde, crotyl alcohol, and vinyl bromide were mutagenic with one or more strains; acrolein ...

Wool Modification by Activated Vinyl Compounds
Textile Research Journal, 1973Wool has been modified with activated mono- and di-functional vinyl compounds in aqueous, dimethyl sulfoxide, and mixed media. Amino acid and chemical analyses showed that lysine and histidine wool side chains reacted in relative proportions dependent on the specific vinyl compound.

1,2,3-Triazine 1-oxides are formed by nitrosyl addition from tert-butyl nitrite to the vinylogous position of vinyl diazo compounds. This transformation, which is a formal intermolecular [5 + 1] cycloaddition, occurs under mild conditions, with high ...

Studies on diacetylenic vinyl compounds
Polymer Bulletin, 1989The copolymerization of maleic anhydride(MAn) with phenyl-4'-vinylp henylbutadiyne(PVPB) was carried out using 2,2'-azobisisobu tyronitrile as an initiator. Although PVPB does not homopolymerize by free radicals in solution, it copolymerized giving copolymers having average molecular weights up to 12,000, and consisting of slightly more PVPB units. The

Nephrotoxicity of Halogenated Vinyl Cysteine Compounds
Journal of Urology, 1982S-(1,2-dichlorovinyl) cysteine (DCVC), is a potent nephrotoxin. In order to determine if other vinyl cysteine conjugates were nephrotoxic, halogenated vinyl cysteines, HVC-1 and HVC-2, were prepared from chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE), a fluorocarbon monomer, or chlorotifluoroethylene, a metabolite of halothane, respectively. Three days after receiving

Reprocessing of Medical Vinyl Compounds
Journal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, 1996Abstract There is increasing public concern over the disposal of plastic waste. The escalating cost of vinyl compounds would also make it desirable to reuse unavoidable process waste and surplus devices, not only in lower value markets, but also for medical device end users.

Topochemical polymerization of vinyl compounds
Radiation Physics and Chemistry (1977), 1980Abstract The present situation of the solid state polymerization is subject to considerations according to those principles that were layed down by Prof. Michel Magat in his publication, entitled Polymerization in the Solid State ( Polymer , 1962, 3 , 449–463).
