Compound requirements for vinyl siding
Journal of Vinyl Technology, 1979Abstract Basic principles of good compounding for weatherable vinyl siding are discussed. Appropriate level of stabilizer is such that 50 percent of initial should remain after the extrusion process. Balanced lubrication is necessary. Judicious choice of pigments and impact modifiers is called for.

Palladium-Catalyzed α-Vinylation of Carbonyl Compounds
Organic Letters, 2007A mild, general, catalytic system for the alpha-vinylation of carbonyl compounds has been developed. By employing [Pd(P(t)Bu(3))Br](2) as catalyst and LHMDS as base, vinyl bromides, vinyl triflates, and vinyl tosylates couple with 3-methyloxindole in satisfactory yields.

Rotational isomerism in vinyl compounds
Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1984Abstract The conformational potential of propene, 1-butene, vinyl alcohol and methyl vinyl ether was calculated with the PCILO algorithm. A potential energy function composed of nonbonded (Lennard-Jones 6–12 plus Coulomb) and torsional contributions was fit to quantum mechanical energies.

Vinyl compounds of heavy metals
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 19581. Mono- and di-vinyl compounds of mercury and thallium and divinyl compounds of tin were synthesized. 2. An investigation was made of the reactions of divinylmercury with lithium, mercury salts, and thallium salts and also of the reactions of divinylthallium halides with mercury and with tin and thallium halides.

Requirements for medical vinyl compounds
Journal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, 1996Abstract What makes a material suitable for applications in the medical device industry? It is a question often asked, but seldom answered in a definitive way. This paper examines vinyl compounds from various viewpoints and attempts to define the requirements for their medical use with respect to formulation, chemical and mechanical ...

Rotational Barriers in Vinyl Compounds
1981The potential energy curve for vinyl group rotation in vinylcyclohexane, calculated using the STO-3G basis set and standard geometries from the MONSTERGAUSS program, reveals s-trans, gauche and s-cis minima with relative energies of 0.0, 5.0 and 3.2 kcal/mol, resp.

1. The reactions of alkyl vinyl ethers (the ethyl and butyl ethers) with pentaerythritol were studied for various proportions of the reactants. 2. It was shown that an alkyl vinyl ether reacts with pentaerythritol in presence of hydrochloric acid with formation of the bicyclic acetal of pentaery thritol, the dialkyl acetal of ...
