The regioselectivity of nitrone cycloadditions to vinyl phosphorus compounds

Tetrahedron, 1990
Abstract The 13-dipolar cycloadditions of nitrones 1-5 to diphenylvinylphosphine oxide (6) sulfide (7) and selenide (8) were carried out. The cycloadditions of the nitrone 3 as a model to substituted vinylphosphorus derivatives 28-36 were also carried out with satisfactory results with the exception of the sulfoxide 33.

Palladium-Catalyzed α-Vinylation of Carbonyl Compounds

Organic Letters, 2007
A mild, general, catalytic system for the alpha-vinylation of carbonyl compounds has been developed. By employing [Pd(P(t)Bu(3))Br](2) as catalyst and LHMDS as base, vinyl bromides, vinyl triflates, and vinyl tosylates couple with 3-methyloxindole in satisfactory yields.

Mutagenic activity of vinyl compounds and derived epoxides

Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology, 1980
Many vinyl compounds, such as vinyl chloride and some inhalational anesthetics, are known to be mutagens. In the present study, 10 vinyl compounds or derived epoxides, widely used in industry, were assayed in the Salmonella typhimurium/mammalian microsome system. 3 strains of histidine-dependent S. typhimurium, TA1535, TA98 and TA100 were used.

Reactions between vinyl compounds and multifunctional compounds Communication 6. Reaction of vinyl ethers with pentaerythritol

Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR Division of Chemical Science, 1955
1. The reactions of alkyl vinyl ethers (the ethyl and butyl ethers) with pentaerythritol were studied for various proportions of the reactants. 2. It was shown that an alkyl vinyl ether reacts with pentaerythritol in presence of hydrochloric acid with formation of the bicyclic acetal of pentaery thritol, the dialkyl acetal of ...

Arylation and Vinylation of α-Diazocarbonyl Compounds with Boroxines

Organic Letters, 2009
An alternative approach for alpha-arylation and alpha-vinylation of carbonyl compounds is described: reaction between aryl- or vinylboroxines with alpha-diazocarbonyl compounds leads to the formation of alpha-arylated or alpha-vinylated carbonyl compounds under mild conditions.

Requirements for medical vinyl compounds

Journal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, 1996
Abstract What makes a material suitable for applications in the medical device industry? It is a question often asked, but seldom answered in a definitive way. This paper examines vinyl compounds from various viewpoints and attempts to define the requirements for their medical use with respect to formulation, chemical and mechanical ...

Rotational Barriers in Vinyl Compounds

1981
The potential energy curve for vinyl group rotation in vinylcyclohexane, calculated using the STO-3G basis set and standard geometries from the MONSTERGAUSS program, reveals s-trans, gauche and s-cis minima with relative energies of 0.0, 5.0 and 3.2 kcal/mol, resp.
