Personal Space Violation by a Robot: An Application of Expectation Violation Theory in Human-Robot Interaction

2021 30th IEEE International Conference on Robot & Human Interactive Communication (RO-MAN), 2021
Studies of personal space between human and robot have been growing. However, little is known about the effects of personal space violation by a robot. Expectation Violation Theory (EVT) explains how people respond to personal space invasion by another person, depending on if the person is perceived as rewarding or punishing.

Violation of Personal Space as a Function of Sex

The Journal of Social Psychology, 1976

Two elevator floor selection panels were available to the Ss, who were the regular occupants of a large downtown office building. In Experiment 1, either a male or a female confederate (C) positioned himself by one of the available panels.

Space parity violation in nuclear fission

Nuclear Physics A, 1989
Abstract Experimental results of systematic studies of the space parity violation effect in heavy nucleus fission induced by transversally polarized monochromatic neutrons with the energies less then ~ 2 eV have been presented. Modern explanations of the results obtained and perspectives of the further investigations are discussed.
