ZNF469 regulates the expression of genes encoding extracellular matrix proteins. Endogenous ZNF469 is predominantly cytoplasmic, while in transfected cells, it forms aggregates reminiscent of biomolecular condensates, located mainly in the nucleus. These condensates exhibit overlapping staining with proteasomes and are also associated with the mitotic ...

Atlanta Gun Violence Modeling via Nonstationary Spatio-temporal Point Processes [PDF]
Analysis of gun violence in the United States has utilized various models based on spatiotemporal point processes. Previous studies have identified a contagion effect in gun violence, characterized by bursts of diffusion across urban environments, which can be effectively represented using the self-excitatory spatiotemporal Hawkes process.

ICP34.5 is one of the most important antihost response proteins. The saRNA‐encoding HSV‐1 neurovirulence protein ICP34.5 clearly mediated the eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha subunit (eIF2α) dephosphorylation and significant suppression of innate immune responses in vitro, leading to enhanced expression of the saRNA‐encoded gene.

Optimizing Violence Detection in Video Classification Accuracy through 3D Convolutional Neural Networks [PDF]
As violent crimes continue to happen, it becomes necessary to have security cameras that can rapidly identify moments of violence with excellent accuracy. The purpose of this study is to identify how many frames should be analyzed at a time in order to optimize a violence detection model's accuracy as a parameter of the depth of a 3D convolutional ...

Ca2+‐mediated response to DMSO was investigated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells expressing Ca2+‐dependent aequorin. Cell exposure to DMSO induced a cytosolic Ca2+ wave dependent on the integrity of the Cch1/Mid1 channel. Deletion of KCS1 or VIP1 genes encoding the phosphoinositol pyrophosphate (PP‐IP) synthases suppressed the DMSO‐induced Ca2 ...

Protein O‐glycosylation in the Bacteroidota phylum
Species of the Bacteroidota phylum exhibit a unique O‐glycosylation system. It modifies noncytoplasmic proteins on a specific amino acid motif with a shared glycan core but a species‐specific outer glycan. A locus of multiple glycosyltransferases responsible for the synthesis of the outer glycan has been identified.
