Epstein-Barr virus genome packaging factors accumulate in BMRF1-cores within viral replication compartments.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
Productive replication of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) during the lytic cycle occurs in discrete sites within nuclei, termed replication compartments.

Cholesterol in mRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticles can be Replaced with the Synthetic Mycobacterial Monomycoloyl Glycerol Analogue MMG‐1

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that cholesterol in messenger RNA‐lipid nanoparticles (mRNA‐LNPs) can be completely replaced with an immunopotentiating lipid, i.e., a synthetic analogue of the C‐type lectin receptor agonist monomycoloyl glycerol (MMG‐1), without compromising physicochemical properties, in vivo transfection efficiency, and immunogenicity of the

Prostaglandin A1 triggers Mayaro virus inhibition and heat shock protein 70 expression in an epithelial cell model

open access: yesRevista da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical
INTRODUCTION: The Mayaro virus (MAYV), which is an arbovirus closely related to the Chikungunya virus, causes a dengue-like acute illness that is endemic to Central and South America.

Sp100 colocalizes with HPV replication foci and restricts the productive stage of the infectious cycle.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2017
We have shown previously that Sp100 (a component of the ND10 nuclear body) represses transcription, replication and establishment of incoming human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA in the early stages of infection.

Bio‐Responsive Hydrogel for Targeted on‐Demand Release of a Phage Cocktail for Treatment of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents an injectable hydrogel that responds to Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection by releasing a dual‐phage cocktail on demand. The system degrades selectively in infected wounds, enhances phage localization and stability, and shows potent antibiofilm activity and biocompatibility in an ex vivo human skin model—offering a promising strategy ...

Oligohistidine‐Functionalized Single‐Walled Carbon Nanotube‐Guided RNA Delivery to Improve Shoot Regeneration Efficiency in Plant Calli

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The pH‐sensitive His6‐SWNTs, which is functionalized with oligohistidine, can deliver STTM396 molecules into callus cells. The STTM396–SWNT complex treatments enhance shoot regeneration efficiency by regulating the miR396‐GRF module in Arabidopsis and tomato calli.
