Duration of an intermittent episode of viremia
Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 2005HIV-1 infected patients after being treated with potent combinations of antiretroviral drugs for 2-6 months typically reach a state in which virus can no longer be detected within their blood. These patients with undetectable virus occasionally have viral load measurements that are above the limit of detection of current assays.

Viremia induced by influenza virus
Microbial Pathogenesis, 1995A mouse model of influenza A/PR/8 virus infection was adopted to investigate the blood and various tissues of intranasally infected mice for the presence of viral RNA by using the nested polymerase chain reaction. The nucleoprotein gene was detected in the red blood cell fraction from 1 to 5 days post-inoculation, while it was found in the lung and ...

Lymphocyte‐Associated viremia in varicella
Journal of Medical Virology, 1986AbstractVaricella‐zoster virus was isolated from mononuclear cells from seven immunocompetent children with varicella during the late incubation period and during the acute phase of the disease. The cells from which the virus was isolated were nonphagocytic and did not adhere to the surface of plates.

VIREMIA IN HUMAN AND EXPERIMENTAL POLIOMYELITIS
Archives of Internal Medicine, 1954THIS EXHIBIT presents evidence that in clinical poliomyelitis a systemic phase, which may be accompanied by symptoms of the minor illness or may be entirely asymptomatic, precedes involvement of the central nervous system. Only recently has it become apparent that, during the systemic infection, virus is present in the blood stream for several days ...

POLIOMYELITIS VIREMIA IN A NEWBORN INFANT
Pediatrics, 1957Poliomyelitis viremia is described in an infant 3 days of age, born to a mother suffering from paralytic poliomyelitis at time of birth. The infant did well for the first 4 days, but on the fifth developed a saddletype fever which lasted for five days.

A total of 186 blood samples from 24 HIV-1 seropositive hemophiliac patients, monitored every four months for 29 months, were investigated for the presence of viral antigen in plasma. In addition, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) were cultured for HIV-1, using normal PBMC as a target for replication.
