The Efficiency and Reliability of Pollutant Removal in a Hybrid Constructed Wetland with Common Reed, Manna Grass, and Virginia Mallow [PDF]
In this paper, the pollutant removal efficiency and the reliability of a vertical and horizontal flow hybrid constructed wetland (CW) planted with common reed, manna grass, and Virginia mallow were analyzed. The wastewater treatment plant, located in south-eastern Poland, treated domestic sewage at an average flow rate of 2.5 m3/d.

Virginia mallow (Sida hermaphrodita (L.) Rusby) as perennial multipurpose crop: biomass yields, energetic valorization, utilization potentials, and management perspectives [PDF]
AbstractThis article reviews the scholarly literature dealing with the perennial multipurpose crop Virginia mallow (Sida hermaphrodita (L.) Rusby; Sida in the following). In regions dominated by intensive agricultural management practices, growing Sida holds the potential to combine ecosystem services such as decreasing soil erosion, reducing nitrate ...

Development and yielding of Virginia fanpetals depending on some elements of agricultural practices
In the years 2016–2018, two field experiments with species Sida hermaphrodita L. Rusby named Virginia fanpetals (syn. Virginia mallow) later in the manuscript as Sida, were carried out in the Świętokrzyskie province. They were located on light soil prone

Seasonal variation in wild pig (Sus scrofa) diet revealed by DNA metabarcoding
Using DNA metabarcoding of fecal samples, we investigated the diet of wild pigs at an extensive bottomland hardwood forest ecosystem within Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge in Southern Arkansas. We found that wild pig diet was highly diverse and included at least 74 plant families and 106 genera and 23 species of vertebrates.

Abstract The magnitude of progressive augmentation (PA) and ventilatory long‐term facilitation (vLTF) are two forms of respiratory plasticity that are enhanced in some humans with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). This response might be linked to repeated nocturnal exposure to intermittent hypoxia or other traits connected to OSA.

Eight wild plant species were investigated as co‐substrates for pellet combustion. A long‐term field trial examined dry matter yield and biochemical composition, influencing combustion properties. Results show suitable combustion properties, comparable to Sida, with higher ash melting temperatures than Miscanthus, due to elevated calcium and magnesium.
