Systematic screening for age‐related comorbidities: Health care optimization among persons with HIV in an outpatient setting

open access: yesHIV Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Age‐related comorbidities occur earlier and more frequently in people with HIV (PWH) than in the general population and have emerged as a key challenge in long‐term HIV care. Unfortunately, many of these conditions remain undiagnosed, and systematic screening in clinical practice remains limited.

Beyond safety net value(s): Tourist hotel rooms for people experiencing homelessness

open access: yesMedical Anthropology Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract This article examines the shape of care and value through an ethnographic study of an intensive, temporary housing intervention for people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco, California, during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Building on a new anthropological theory of value, the results highlight the slipperiness between surveillance and care,

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 35, 24 June 2026.
Cancer immunotherapy faces challenges in predicting treatment responses and understanding resistance mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offer powerful solutions for cancer immunotherapy in patient stratification, biomarker discovery, treatment strategy optimization, and foundation model development.

Evaluation of Catch Performance and Environmental Impact of Technical Gear Modifications for a More Sustainable Scallop Dredging Fishery

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
Catch and environmental performance of modified scallop dredge designs were assessed. Skid belly bags increased scallop catch by 14%–19% and reduced gear wear. N‐Virodredge reduced catch of scallop juveniles and sorting time. Gear footprint on the seabed was reduced by 50% for skid belly bags. N‐Virodredge cut fuel use by 30%, reducing carbon emissions

Oncolytic Therapy: Delivery System and New Therapeutic Strategies for Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2026.
This review summarizes recent advances in nanoparticle‐ and cell‐mediated OVs delivery strategies that improve biodistribution and tumor targeting while limiting immune clearance. It also examines combination approaches that enhance therapeutic efficacy through tumor microenvironment modulation or immune activation, thereby overcoming immunosuppression

Re‐Interpreting Genetic Offset: Quantifying the Least Required Evolutionary Rate Under Climate Change at the Mediterranean Range Margin of European Beech

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 19, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) spans a wide range of European climates and exhibits evidence of local adaptation, which supports its persistence under diverse conditions. We analysed 18 populations—distributed across an altitude gradient on the southwestern geographic range edge of the species—using landscape genomics to assess their ...

Pigmentation disorders in three specimens of spiny dogfish, Squalus acanthias Linnaeus, 1758, from the Gulf of Venice, northern Adriatic Sea

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, Volume 108, Issue 4, Page 1402-1406, April 2026.
Abstract This study reports three cases of pigmentation disorders in Squalus acanthias from the Gulf of Venice. Two specimens exhibited spotless phenotypes, whereas one exhibited hypermelanism. Morphological assessments were conducted for two individuals, alongside genetic analysis of mitochondrial genes to determine phylogeographic relationships. Both
