Compliant Pneumatic Feet with Real‐Time Stiffness Adaptation for Humanoid Locomotion

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A compliant pneumatic foot with real‐time variable stiffness enables humanoid robots to adapt to changing terrains. Using onboard vision and pressure control, the foot modulates stiffness within each gait cycle, reducing impact forces and improving balance. The design, cast in soft silicone with embedded air chambers and Kevlar wrapping, offers durable,

Real‐Time Holographic Feedback via Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System Enhances Pediatric Intubation Training

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We proposed a Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System to provide real‐time holographic torque feedback during pediatric endotracheal intubation simulation. Visualization formats are evaluated to reduce tracking error and visual demand.

Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

Cryptococcus, Pathological observations of five autopsy cases and one biopsy case [PDF]

open access: yes, 1959
Pathologic, anatomical, and histological findings of 5 autopsy cases and one biopsy case of cryptococcosis have been described. Macroscopically the foci of the lung are grayish white or yellowish white in color and range in size from the small acinous ...

Deep Contrastive Learning for High‐Throughput Prediction of Drug Resistance Mutations from Sequences

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents DeepMutDTA, a deep learning framework aimed at predicting mutation‐induced changes in protein‐drug interactions and prioritizing variants potentially linked to drug resistance. Trained on large‐scale data, it incorporates SimSiam‐MuTF, a label‐aware contrastive fine‐tuning strategy that encourages separation between WT and MT ...

Quand les morts passent un scanner

open access: yesAnthropologie & Santé, 2017
During medico-legal examination, in cases of homicide or suspicious death, corpses undergo a series of technical and scientific tests in order to make them “talk” and identify the causes of death.

In Situ X‐Ray Tomography and Acoustic Emission Monitoring of Damage Evolution in C/C‐SiC Composites Fabricated by Liquid Silicon Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates how the internal structure of fiber‐reinforced ceramic composites affects their resistance to damage. By combining 3D X‐ray imaging with acoustic emission monitoring during mechanical testing, it reveals how silicon distribution influences crack formation.

A Generative Neuro‐Symbolic AI for Protein Sequence Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce EffieDes, a neuro‐symbolic framework coupling deep learning‐based fitness landscape parameterization with exact automated reasoning. Unlike greedy sampling, EffieDes identifies sequences that globally optimize fitness while satisfying intricate design constraints.

Comparison between the numbers of abnormalities detected per case by virtual autopsy and conventional autopsy considering the anatomic segments.

open access: yes, 2021
The mean number of abnormalities detected per case using virtual autopsy at 3 T and classic autopsy for each anatomic segment considered was evaluated using p value.
