Pause of the target gliding microtuble on the virtual cathode
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2019We report the transient response of gliding microtubules on a virtual cathode. In vivo activities, microtubule-kinesin systems are known to act as motor proteins with respect to cell motility cytokinesis and cellular transport by hydrolyzing ATP molecules.

Computer simulation of virtual cathode oscillations
Journal of Applied Physics, 1990The dynamics of relativistic electron beam and the oscillations of the virtual cathode in the vircator (virtual cathode oscillator) have been investigated by electrostatic particle-in-cell computer simulations. A specially developed PIC (particle-in-cell) computer code is employed in this study. In the diode region, cathode to anode, the solid electron

The virtual cathode microwave amplifier experiment
Journal of Applied Physics, 1989This paper describes the results of an experiment that tests a new high-power microwave amplifier concept that uses the virtual cathode phenomenon as an amplifier rather than as a free-running oscillator. The virtual cathode is surrounded by a cavity resonator that is driven by an input signal.

Output Characteristics of the Axially Extracted Virtual Cathode Oscillator With a Cathode-Wing
IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2009Having the merits of conceptual simplicity, high-output-power capacity, and wide tuning characteristics, the vircator (virtual cathode oscillator) has been investigated as a high-power microwave (HPM) generator. In axial vircator, the power, frequency, and pulsewidth are all sensitive to the cathode shape, and the frequency depends strongly on the ...

Theory of feedback in generators with virtual cathode. Analytical theory of virtual cathode
2004 14th International Crimean Conference "Microwave and Telecommunication Technology" (IEEE Cat. No.04EX843), 2004The inhomogeneous problem of electric oscillation in the space with a virtual cathode was solved for the first time. These oscillation spectra were found to depend upon the cathode location (and consequently upon the cathode injection current). Frequency values and oscillation increments are given.

Magnetron with virtual cathode
2013 Abstracts IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), 2013The lifetime limitation of high power magnetrons is failure of their cathodes due to intense electron bombardment [1]. In the present work we study the operation of a compact relativistic magnetron [2] with a virtual cathode (VC) in the interaction space of the device instead of a physical cathode.

Cathode and Anode Optimization in a Virtual Cathode Oscillator
IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2007We are fabricating and testing several different types of cathodes for the same vircator driven by a single shot Marx generator and pulse forming line (300 kV, 60 ns, 30 Omega). The cathodes types, each with an emitting area of ~32 cm2, include the original velvet with a new geometry, carbon fiber, pin-array, and an array of all metal cathodes.

Measuring the virtual cathode velocity
Technical Physics Letters, 2008An electron beam with a virtual cathode (VC) transported in a two-section drift tube of a SINUS-7 high-current electron accelerator has been studied. The dependence of the VC velocity on the injected current has been experimentally determined for the first time.

Virtual Cathode Reflex Oscillators
Eighth IEEE International Conference on Pulsed Power, 1991A new approach for realizing virtual cathode with dielectric tube is presented. And several possible microwave radiation sourceses are proposed. The approach is also helpful to the study of intense relativistic electron beam microwave and beam-beam interactions.

Theory of the virtual cathode oscillator
Physics of Plasmas, 2001A one-dimensional analytical theory is developed to describe the behavior of the virtual cathode oscillator. Theoretical predictions for the microwave frequency and efficiency have been obtained. The results suggested that the feedback of the microwave field to the virtual cathode is very important for the microwave efficiency which, under optimum ...
