Simulation Calculations of Cardiac Virtual Cathode Effects

Computers and Biomedical Research, 1996
The anisotropic bidomain model has been used to perform computer simulations of cardiac tissue stimulated externally. Virtual cathode distances, Rvc, are found to be affected by type of stimulation and the degree of conductance between the extracellular domain and the ground provided by, for example, a saline bath.

Virtual cathode oscillator with elliptical resonator

2017 Eighteenth International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC), 2017
We have proposed the new scheme of relativistic vircator system for generation of high-power microwave radiation with elliptical resonator as the interaction space and have carried out its numerical study. The effect of the resonator parameters on the interaction of electron beam with the electrodynamic structure has been discovered.

A one-dimensional model illustrating virtual-cathode formation in a novel coaxial virtual-cathode oscillator

Physics of Plasmas, 2014
A one-dimensional electrostatic sheet model of a coaxial geometry Virtual Cathode Oscillator (VCO) is presented. The cathode is centrally located and connects to a peripherally located plate electrode to form a resonant cavity, and is thus considered to be a novel design. Charge is modelled as concentric sheets about the cathode whose absolute position

Advances in virtual cathode microwave sources

IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility, 1992
The evolution of the virtual cathode microwave source and its current performance are described. Explosive generator driven virtual cathode oscillators, resonant cavity sources, and phase-locking and amplifier sources are covered. Areas for future development are discussed. >

Generation mechanism in triode with virtual cathode

Proceedings ISDEIV. 19th International Symposium on Discharges and Electrical Insulation in Vacuum (Cat. No.00CH37041), 2002
The triode with virtual cathode (VC) generates gigawatt pulses in wide frequency band. Basically, existing theoretical investigations of this system were carried out by method of numerical simulations and did not explain many experimental facts. The analytical description is more successful for investigation of generation mechanism.

Oscillations of an electron stream with a virtual cathode

Soviet Physics Journal, 1987
The results of an investigation of the oscillations of a virtual cathode and the hysteresis of the state for a one-dimensional electron stream in a flat drift space are given. It is shown that in the case of a given mean space charge density and a given injection current different oscillatory regimes can exist in a stream with a virtual cathode.

Autoacceleration via Virtual Cathode Oscillation

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1979
Injection of monoenergetic electron beams with uniform number density into an evacuated, straight-walled, equipotential cylindrical drift tubes has been modeled. An oscillating virtual cathode is produced by having the injected current exceed the space-charge limiting current of the drift tube.

Cathode constructive features influence on radiation characteristics in triodes with virtual cathode

5th Korea-Russia International Symposium on Science and Technology. Proceedings. KORUS 2001 (Cat. No.01EX478), 2002
The increase in the efficiency and power of electromagnetic wave radiation in triodes with a virtual cathode is connected both with the level of interaction between the electron flow and the electromagnetic field of a resonant system and with the number of electrons in the interaction region.

Pulse-powered virtual cathode oscillator

IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 2011
The paper deals with the conception of parts numerically modelled for a pulse powered virtual cathode oscillator. More concretely, this study presents the design of the anode and cathode of the oscillator and analyzes experiments carried out to verify numerical results related to the pulse powered generator.

The virtual cathode problem for cylindrical electrodes

Applied Scientific Research, Section B, 1950
After a general discussion on the influence of space charge upon the potential distribution between parallel electrodes, the case of coaxial cylindrical electrodes is investigated. The resultant current-voltage characteristics are calculated and it is shown that the obtained curves are similar to those of the well-known case of plane electrodes.
