In silico analysis of putative interactions identifies fibroblasts as hubs for cell–cell communication during early regeneration of the zebrafish heart

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The zebrafish heart regenerates upon injury. During injury response, fibroblasts and endothelial cells accumulate at the site of damage, and cardiomyocyte cell cycle reentry allows cardiac muscle regrowth. It is relevant to understand how the different cell types communicate with each other to coordinate regeneration.

AI‐based localization of the epileptogenic zone using intracranial EEG

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming our lives. Machine learning (ML) enables computers to learn from data and make decisions without explicit instructions. Deep learning (DL), a subset of ML, uses multiple layers of neural networks to recognize complex patterns in large datasets through end‐to‐end learning.

Early Feasibility of Registration of Micro‐PET/CT Scans to Annotated 3D Specimen Models

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Intraoperative 18F‐fluorodeoxyglucose (18F‐FDG) micro‐positron emission tomography/computed tomography (micro‐PET/CT) is an emerging modality for margin assessment. Prior to clinical use, micro‐PET/CT margin distances must be correlated with gold‐standard histopathology.

Providing Mental Health and Substance Use Services to People Released From Custody During the COVID‐19 Pandemic: A Qualitative Study of Service Providers

open access: yesThe International Journal of Health Planning and Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper explores the perspectives of mental health and substance use providers who supported people released from custody during the pandemic in Ontario, Canada, with a focus on service disruptions, adaptations, and experiences. We conducted 20 in‐depth qualitative interviews and analysed these using Applied Thematic Analysis.

Molecular Tumor Boards in Malignant Melanoma: Uncovering Challenges and Opportunities in a Bicenter Retrospective Analysis in Germany

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Molecular tumor boards (MTB), interdisciplinary teams that use tumor genomic data to guide personalized treatment decisions, have emerged as a promising strategy in melanoma care, although their real‐world clinical impact remains uncertain. This retrospective study evaluated advanced melanoma patients to assess molecularly guided treatment ...
