Internet of Things (IoT) for Seamless Virtual Reality Space: Challenges and Perspectives

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper addresses a novel virtual reality (VR) system that is based on the real world in which we live. The ultimate goal is to implement it as though a VR user freely exists in a place. To this end, it is most important to reconstruct a VR space that

Solution‐Processed Two‐Dimensional Indium Oxide on Sodium‐Embedded Alumina for Reconfigurable Optoelectronic Synaptic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

Integrating Indigenous Knowledge into Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics using Virtual Space: A Mission Impossible? [PDF]

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Journal of Virtual Learning in Medical Sciences
While South African curricula require the incorporation of Indigenous Knowledge (IK) into Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), it is not clear what IK educators should include in STEM.

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

THE PROPER NAMES’ SYSTEM IN THE VIRTUAL SPACE OF “FANTASY” GENRE IN THE ASPECT OF NEOLOGY

open access: yesГуманитарные и юридические исследования, 2021
The article deals with the problem of describing the system of proper names in J. P.P. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" as an individual neologisms, which allow to represent the author's mythology.

Stochastically Generated Digital Twins of 3D Solid‐State Electrolyte Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A stochastic model and validation suite were developed to produce the highest fidelity computer‐generated (Digital Twin) microstructures of random porous tape‐cast solid‐state battery architectures across µm to mm feature sizes from FIB‐SEM to X‐Ray µCT, respectively.

Programmable 2D Magnetic Clusterphenes With High Curie Temperature and Strong Magnetic Anisotropy via Cluster Assembly and Ligand Synergy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Programmable 2D magnetic clusterphenes are realized through a ligand‐mediated cluster‐assembly strategy. Direct linking of magnetic superatomic clusters enhances electron delocalization and symmetry breaking, enabling the concurrent strengthening of magnetic exchange interactions and spin–orbit coupling.
