Mucin Glycoprotein Nanoparticles Enable a Selective Antisense Therapy for Oncogenic MicroRNAs
Mucin glycoproteins are turned into nanoparticles by employing synthetic DNA strands, which have a dual function: they stabilize the nanoparticles and act as binding sites for intracellular miRNA‐21. Thus, upon internalization into tumor cells, these mucin nanoparticles can deplete miRNA‐21 from the cytosol, which induces apoptosis in vitro and in vivo.

This review explains how biomaterials and nanoparticles can be used to induce or modulate tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs), which are ectopic immune hubs that form in nonlymphoid tissues during chronic disease and cancer. By comparing different methods, the article highlights design principles for modeling TLSs or recapitulating specific TLS ...

Surfactant‐Enhanced Electrospun Nanofiber Filters for Efficient Viral and Bacterial Inactivation
In this work, electrospun polyacrylonitrile (PAN) nanofibrous filters functionalized with surfactants (CTAB, CPC, and SDS) were developed for air filtration applications. The PAN nanofiber mats enable efficient particulate matter capture while simultaneously providing antimicrobial and antiviral activity against bacteria (E. coli and S.

Adaptation of Schmallenberg virus to continuous cell cultures
A capability to adapt Schmallenberg virus to continuous cell cultures of different origin was investigated. The evidence of virus adaptation was established in continuous cell cultures BHK-21, porcine kidney, Vero, ovine kidney and Mark-145.

PROJECT: Green Crop Lifting – an Alternative Producing Healthy Seed Potatoes in the System of Organic Farming [PDF]
The standards of organic farming require the use of organically grown seeds in organic potato farming. Presumably the use of conventionally grown seeds under exceptional circumstances will end in 2003. Only organically grown seeds can be used thereafter.
