Genome structure and genetic diversity in the Ebola virus
Current Opinion in Pharmacology, 2021Ebola is a deadly pathogen responsible for Ebola virus disease, first came to prominence in the year 1976. This rapidly evolving virus imposed a serious threat to the human population in the last few decades and also continues to be a probable threat to our race.

Genetic Diversity of Simian Immunodeficiency Virus
Journal of Medical Primatology, 1989We have demonstrated that the genetic diversity of simian immunodeficiency virus from African green monkeys (SIVagm) is much greater than that observed previously for individual HIV‐1, HIV‐2, or SIVmac isolates. Extensive genetic variation among SIVagm isolates and the high prevalence of green monkey infection without disease suggest that the virus has

Genetic diversity and BVD virus
Comparative Immunology, Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 1992The various measures of genetic variation of BVD virus was reviewed with emphasis on the implications for future control of virus-induced disease and diagnosis. While experimental data does not support unique serotypes for BVDV, there is substantial antigenic variation among the isolates examined.

Structure and Diversity of Influenza Virus Neuraminidase
1985Despite all that has been learned about influenza virus in the years since its isolation (SMITH et al. 1933), no method of cure or control has yet been found. Vaccination, so successful against polio and smallpox, is frustrated by antigenic variation of the two surface glycoproteins of the virus, and prospects for chemotherapy are uncertain.

Genetic diversity of Usutu virus.
The new microbiologica, 2012Usutu virus is a mosquito-borne virus first isolated from Culex naevei in South Africa in 1959. The first emergence of Usutu virus outside Africa was recorded in Austria. Here, a phylogenetic analysis targeting the E5 and NS5 genes was carried out on the viral strains circulating in Europe.

Banana streak virus is very diverse in Uganda
Virus Research, 2004Banana streak virus (BSV) is a badnavirus that causes a viral leaf streak disease of banana and plantain (Musa spp.). Identified in essentially all Musa growing areas of the world, it has a deleterious effect on the productivity of infected plants as well as being a major constraint to Musa breeding programmes and germplasm dissemination.

Diversity and evolution of potato mop-top virus
Archives of Virology, 2015Nearly complete sequences of RNA-CP and 3'-proximal RNA-TGB were determined for 43 samples of potato mop-top virus (PMTV) originating from potato tubers and field soil from Sweden, Denmark and the USA. The results showed limited diversity and no strict geographical grouping, suggesting only a few original introductions of PMTV from the Andes.
