Attenuation Properties of Viscoelastic Material

pure and applied geophysics, 1989
The attenuation properties of eight Theological models have been studied theoretically. The expressions for Q have been obtained by using dissipated and stored energies and/or complex modulus for each model. The dependence of Q on frequency has been demonstrated.

On ageing viscoelastic materials

Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 1966
Abstract C onstitutive equations for ageing viscoelastic materials are formulated as differential equations with variable coefficients. Particular attention is devoted to the second order equation; the creep function is derived and asymptotic behaviour is studied. Comparison is made with commonly accepted expressions for creep functions of concrete.

Fractional thermoelectric viscoelastic materials

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2011
AbstractA new mathematical model of thermoelectro viscoelasticity theory was constructed in the context of a new consideration of heat conduction with fractional order. The state space approach developed earlier by Ezzat was adopted for the solution of a one‐dimensional problem in the presence of heat sources.

Identification of Viscoelastic Materials

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2000
Abstract The frequency-dependent complex modulus for a linearly viscoelastic material is estimated from wave propagation experiments. In these experiments, strains at different sections of a bar specimen are measured as functions of time. The time series are then transformed into the frequency domain, where the identification is made.

Linear Viscoelastic Materials

2019
Viscoelastic materials induce delayed mechanical response when loaded, and are of major interest for designing damping systems or for studying the creep behavior in concrete, among many other engineering applications. Progress in the design of viscoelastic composites require the construction of homogenized models based on microstructural analysis.

Viscoelastic Properties of Soft Lining Materials

Journal of Dental Research, 1972
Viscoelastic properties of denture soft liners were measured with a torsional pendulum apparatus. Several soft acrylic and silicone materials and one natural rubber compound were studied. Available proprietary materials exhibit a wide range of elastic moduli; soft acrylic materials have high mechanical hysteresis compared with silicone materials.

Delamination of Unidirectional Viscoelastic Composite Materials

Mechanics of Composite Materials, 2002
The delamination of unidirectional composite materials takes place under compression along the reinforcing elements and often occurs near the free surfaces or planes of these materials. The first investigation in this field was made in 1976 and since then numerous studies have been carried out.

Wave equations in linear viscoelastic materials

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1986
Conditions for writing wave equations in linear viscoelastic materials are investigated. The study is restricted to the infinitesimal theory and an application is suggested in modeling ultrasound propagation in soft biological tissues. First, a general wave equation is obtained for the displacement field in an inhomogeneous medium.

Thermorheological Modelling of Viscoelastic Materials

1995
A semi-empirical framework for the thermorheological description of the flow of viscoelastic materials is presented. The framework summarizes existing constitutive models and offers the possibilty to investigate and extend these models in a systematic way.
