Identification of Viscoelastic Materials
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2000Abstract The frequency-dependent complex modulus for a linearly viscoelastic material is estimated from wave propagation experiments. In these experiments, strains at different sections of a bar specimen are measured as functions of time. The time series are then transformed into the frequency domain, where the identification is made.

Polymeric materials are widely used in electronic packaging as encapsulation, underfill and die attach. The viscoelastic model offers better representation of material performance than the linear elastic model.

Thermorheological Modelling of Viscoelastic Materials
1995A semi-empirical framework for the thermorheological description of the flow of viscoelastic materials is presented. The framework summarizes existing constitutive models and offers the possibilty to investigate and extend these models in a systematic way.

The Viscoelasticity of Filled Materials
Transactions of the Society of Rheology, 1965An expression for the modulus of rigidity of an elastic material in which a rigid filler is dispersed is extended to deal with a viscoelastic matrix. It is shown that the introduction of the filler adds a second relaxation (or retardation) time to that of the matrix.

Viscoelasticity of elastomeric materials
Abstract This chapter formulates a large-deformation viscoelasticity theory for elastomeric materials. The framework uses a multi-branch multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient into elastic and viscous components and applies the principle of virtual power to derive macroscopic and microscopic balance laws.Lallit Anand +2 more
