Viscoelastic properties of ferrofluids

Physical Review E, 2010
The paper deals with theoretical study of non linear viscoelastic phenomena in ferrofluids placed in magnetic field. Our attention is focused on the study of nonstationary flow and Maxwell-like relaxation of the macroscopical viscous stress after alternation of the shear rate. We propose that these phenomena can be explained by finite rate of evolution

Viscoelastic properties of human dentin

Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1975
AbstractStress relaxation measurements were performed on thick‐walled cylinders of radicular human dentin. The experimentally measured relaxation moduli were used to obtain an approximation to the logarithmic distribution functions of relaxation times. This distribution function was used to predict the behavior of other viscoelastic properties.

Viscoelastic Properties of Particle Gels

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1999
The effect of strength of attraction and volume fraction on the mechanical properties of alumina particle networks were investigated. Alumina particle gels were formed reversibly and in situ in the rheometer by cooling alumina particle suspensions with adsorbed poly(12-hydroxy stearic acid) suspended in a marginal solvent, hexanol.

Viscoelastic properties of nucleus pulposus

Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, 1997
Although there have been many studies on the mechanical properties of the annulus fibrosus [1], the fibrous outer layers of the intervertebral disc, there have been fewer studies published on the mechanical properties of its soft centre, the nucleus pulposus [2-4].

Viscoelastic properties of fibrin clots

Biorheology, 1973
Elastic and viscous properties of fibrin clots were measured in the cone-plate test section of a Weissenberg Rheogonimeter. The tests applied included forced oscillations, free vibrations, and stress relaxation, all in shear. Two classes of clots were studied: (i) ligated clots, formed with the presence of the enzyme fibrinoligase, and (ii) non-ligated
