Viscoelastic Properties of Elastomers

2010
Rubber and other elastomers play an important role in many tribological applications. They are used where large frictional forces are demanded. In particular, they find applications as materials for tires, feed rollers (e.g. in printers), sports shoes, seals, rubber bands, and materials in electronic devices (e.g.

The viscoelastic properties of cork

Journal of Materials Science, 2002
The viscoelastic properties of cork (from Quercus suber) have been investigated in the temperature range −40 to 120°C using the technique of Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA). The results were compared with dielectric data previously reported. A relaxation was detected with a maximum in tan δ at ca 20°C (f = 1 Hz) and with a mean activation energy of ...

Viscoelastic properties of leukocytes.

Kroc Foundation series, 1984
The viscoelastic properties of leukocytes (WBCs) during small deformation were determined by micropipette aspiration. The passive deformation behavior of neutrophils suspended in a Ca2+-free medium in response to a step aspiration pressure consists of an initial rapid, elastic response followed by a creep displacement.
