Reversible Visible Watermarking Technique for Images

Compressing and transmitting visible human images
IEEE Multimedia, 1997We address compression and transmission issues related to images in the National Library of Medicine's Visible Human Project. In total, these images amount to about 235 Gbytes of data, challenging conventional storage, retrieval, and transmission methods. We discuss lossless and lossy methods to compress the images.

Conversion of Infrared Images to Visible in Color
Applied Optics, 1968An ir line scan instrument has been developed that scans a scene simultaneously with three separate spectral regions and produces an image of the scene as a color photograph. The three spectral regions are 0.5-1.0 micro, 3.0-5.5 micro and 8.0-14.0 micro. The ir detectors used are Si, InSb, and Ge:Hg, respectively.

The Visibility and Image of Handicapped People on Television
Exceptional Children, 1981A random sample of prime time television programing during spring 1979 was analyzed to determine the visibility and image of characters portrayed as handicapped. Results suggested that handicapped persons are, overall, not highly visible and are as likely to appear in negative roles as positive ones.
