Camera localization under visible light positioning

open access: yes, 2023
Camera localization is a crucial task in computer vision applications, including autonomous navigation, augmented reality, and robotics. It enables devices such as smartphones to determine their location and orientation in an environment. In recent years,

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

A Visible Light Communication Positioning Mechanism in Industrial Logistics Management

open access: yes, 2016
In last decade, LEDs are popularly employed in our daily life due to its own characteristics. As LEDs have many advantages such as high tolerance to humidity, long usage lifetime, and low power consumption, it has been employed in our daily life in ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

PDOA Based Indoor Positioning Using Visible Light Communication

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
A novel indoor positioning algorithm with improved location accuracy is proposed for visible light communication system. The novelty of the positioning algorithm lies in a hybrid approach of making use of both frequency and variable phase of the ...

Effect of Signal-Dependent Shot Noise on Visible Light Positioning

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
This paper investigates the error bounds for position estimation in downlink visible light communication (VLC) systems. More precisely, we use Cramér-Rao lower bounds (CRLBs) to study the effect of signal-dependent shot noise (SDSN) on the error ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Visible Light Positioning Using A Single LED Luminaire

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
Visible light positioning (VLP) has developed rapidly with the ubiquitous lighting infrastructure in recent years. Based on classic trilateration or triangulation, VLP usually requires at least three light sources which makes it infeasible in some ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
