Design of Lipopeptides and dsRNA‐Lipopeptide Complexes for Sprayable RNAi‐Based Plant Protection

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 11, November 2026.
Lipopeptide surfactants self‐assemble into nanostructure carriers that complex, protect, and deliver dsRNA, establishing structure–function relationships for next‐generation RNAi‐based insect control. ABSTRACT Broad‐spectrum insecticides persist in the environment, affecting non‐target organisms and selecting for resistant pest populations. In contrast,

Early detection of cervical cancer with visual inspection methods: a summary of completed and on-going studies in India

open access: yesSalud Pública de México, 2003
India is a high-risk country for cervical cancer which accounts a quarter (126 000 new cases, 71 000 deaths around 2 000) of the world burden. The age-standardized incidence rates range from 16-55 per 100 000 women in different regions with particularly ...

Citric Acid‐Crosslinked Chitosan Coatings Incorporating Curcumin for Enhancement of Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Properties

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, Volume 32, Issue 6, Page 1573-1592, November 2026.
A fully bio‐based coating was developed using Chitosan, Citric acid, and Curcumin. Citric acid acts simultaneously as a green solvent and non‐toxic crosslinker. Dry Heat Treatment enhances water resistance and thermal stability, creating an active packaging system with dual antioxidant and antimicrobial properties to extend food shelf‐life.

Beyond monofunctionality: structural perspectives on phenol oxidase side activity in a catalase

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 82, Issue 11, Page 1224-1239, November 2026.
Structural and biochemical characterization of the extracellular fungal catalase ClCPO uncovers an unexpected phenol oxidase promiscuity. Crystal structures, substrate docking and electron‐transfer pathway analysis identify ligand‐binding regions and support a working mechanistic model for catalase‐associated phenol oxidase activity.Catalases are ...

Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) Versus Visual Inspection with Lugol’s Iodine (VILI) for Cervical Cancer Screening in Rural Settings: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesJournal of Carcinogenesis
Cervical cancer disproportionately affects women in rural low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where access to cytology, colposcopy, and follow‑up care is limited. Visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) and visual inspection with Lugol’s iodine (VILI) are low‑cost tests that provide immediate results and can be used within single‑visit “screen ...

Sources, Transmission, and Control of Salmonella in Vertically Integrated Broiler Chicken Production: Farm, Hatchery, and Processing Plant

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Salmonella remains one of the most important foodborne pathogens associated with poultry products, despite substantial progress in processing hygiene and antimicrobial interventions. This review critically examines the sources, transmission routes, and control strategies for Salmonella in vertically integrated broiler production systems ...

Auxin response and PIN‐mediated transport in chlorophyte algae

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 11, Page 3947-3961, November 2026.
Like multicellular plants, green algae respond to auxin and move it across their cells. However, their PIN‐like proteins do not act like plant auxin exporters, suggesting that basic auxin transport evolved early and specialized directional transport appeared later in plant evolution.

Directed Evolution of Plant‐Associated Bacteria Enhances Plant Holobiont Stress Tolerance

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 11, Page 7794-7807, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Plant stress responses are shaped by both the plant genome and its associated microbial communities, which together form the plant holobiont. Given the rapid adaptive potential of plant‐associated microbes, we hypothesised that directed evolution under selective pressure can accelerate the development of holobiont‐level stress tolerance ...

Formation of Highly Selective Binding Pockets in UiO‐Type MOFs From Bridged Linkers

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 44, 26 October 2026.
Much room for design: We present a generalizable strategy for precisely modifying UiO‐type Metal‐organic frameworks with functional groups in a site‐specific manner. Through the use of pre‐connected linkers, pocket‐like pores for molecular recognition are generated.

Resource‐Adapted Triage Strategies for Women Testing HPV Positive With Self‐Collected Vaginal Samples in Cameroon

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 8, Page 1949-1961, 15 October 2026.
Although human papillomavirus (HPV) testing is recommended for cervical cancer screening in low‐ and middle‐income countries, optimal management of HPV‐positive women remains undetermined, particularly in resource‐limited settings. Here, using data from the 3T study involving women in Cameroon, the authors evaluated the ability of extended HPV ...
