Visual behaviours for binocular tracking
Proceedings Second EUROMICRO Workshop on Advanced Mobile Robots, 1998This paper presents a binocular tracking system based on the integration of visual behaviours. Biologically motivated behaviours, vergence and pursuit, cooperate as parallel, complementary and highly coupled processes in the tracking system, simplifying the acquisition of perceptual information and system modeling and control.

Depth assisted visual tracking
2009 10th Workshop on Image Analysis for Multimedia Interactive Services, 2009We propose a depth assisted video object tracking algorithm that utilizes stereo vision technique to detect and handle various types of occlusions. The foreground objects are detected by using a depth and motion-based segmentation method. The occlusion detection error caused by inaccurate motion vectors is avoided by combining the depth segmentation ...

Fragmentation handling for visual tracking
Signal, Image and Video Processing, 2012Object detection and tracking using background subtraction suffers from the fragmentation problem which means one object fragments into several blobs because of being similar with the reference image in color. In this paper, we build a visual tracking framework using background subtraction for object detection, and we address the association difficulty

Spiral visual and motional tracking
Neurocomputing, 2017Constructing a visual appearance model is essential for visual tracking. However, relying only on the visual model during appearance changes is insufficient and may even interfere with achieving good results. Although several visual tracking algorithms emphasize motional tracking that estimates the motion state of the object center between consecutive ...

A probabilistic observer for visual tracking
Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010This paper describes an observer for estimation of the rigid pose and shape states associated to an object being tracked in an image sequence. The defined observer utilizes standard estimation strategies for the finite-dimensional rigid pose sub-states, and a novel strategy for the shape sub-states.

Visual Tracking by Hypothesis Testing
2007A new approach for tracking a non-rigid target is presented. Tracking is formulated as a Maximum A Posteriori (MAP) segmentation problem where each pixel is assigned a binary label indicating whether it belongs to the target or not. The label field is modeled as a Markov Random Field whose Gibbs energy comprises three terms.

Realtime Visual Tracking of Aircrafts
2008 Digital Image Computing: Techniques and Applications, 2008Aircraft tracking has applications in guided landing, automatic scoring in aerobatics and target tracking for military. Radar based tracking is expensive, gives away the position of the radar and is prone to jamming. However, vision sensors are low cost, passive and robust to jamming hence motivating their use for aircraft tracking. This paper proposes

Sparse representation has been widely used in visual tracking and achieves superior tracking results. However, most sparse representation models represent the target candidate as a linear combination of target templates and need to solve a sparse optimization problem. In this paper, we propose a novel set to set visual tracking (SSVT) method. Under the
