Design Strategies Toward Plasmon-Enhanced 2-Dimensional Material Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Devices & Instrumentation, 2023
Two-dimensional (2D) materials have become more advantageous compared with traditional semiconductor materials for fabrication of modern photodetectors operating at room temperature and possessing small volume and low power consumption. However, the weak

A framework for the visualization of multidimensional and multivariate data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
High dimensionality is a major challenge for data visualization. Parameter optimization problems require an understanding of the behaviour of an objective function in an n-dimensional space around the optimum - this is multidimensional visualization and ...

A model and software system for coordinated and multiple views in exploratory visualization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper describes a model for expressing coordination in multiple view visualization systems. We present the model and describe a prototype implementation that illustrates the features of the model.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Pre-visualization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This position paper argues that deep collaboration must be a part of any humanities visualization project and it investigates the nature and the place of such collaboration.

On encouraging multiple views for visualization

open access: yes, 1998
Visualization enables 'seeing the unseen', and provides new insight into the underlying data. However users far too easily believe or rely on a single representation of the data; this view may be a favourite method, the simplest to perform, or a method ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Visual Servoing and Visual Tracking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This chapter introduces visual servo control, using computer vision data in the servo loop to control the motion of a robot. We first describe the basic tech- niques that are by now well established in the field. We give a general overview of the formulation of the visual servo control problem, and describe the two archetypal visual servo control ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
