Vitamin D’s Effect on Immune Function
Ever since its discovery by Windhaus, the importance of the active metabolite of vitamin D (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3; 1,25-(OH)2D3) has been ever expanding.

The challenges of studying inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), highlighting limitations of traditional 2D cell cultures and animal models are discussed here. It introduces human intestine organ‐on‐chip (OoC) models as a promising alternative, capable of more accurately mimicking the intestinal microenvironment.

Electronic structure and correlations of vitamin B12 studied within the Haldane-Anderson impurity model [PDF]
We study the electronic structure and correlations of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamine) by using the framework of the multi-orbital single-impurity Haldane-Anderson model of a transition-metal impurity in a semiconductor host. The parameters of the effective Haldane-Anderson model are obtained within the Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation.

Is there a role for vitamin C in preventing osteoporosis and fractures?:A review of the potential underlying mechanisms and current epidemiological evidence [PDF]
Osteoporosis and related fractures are a major global health issue, but there are few preventative strategies. Previously reported associations between higher intakes of fruits and vegetables and skeletal health have been suggested to be partly ...

Vitamin D deficiency: a worldwide problem with health consequences.
Vitamin D deficiency is now recognized as a pandemic. The major cause of vitamin D deficiency is the lack of appreciation that sun exposure in moderation is the major source of vitamin D for most humans.

Vitamin D Deficiency and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease
Background— Vitamin D receptors have a broad tissue distribution that includes vascular smooth muscle, endothelium, and cardiomyocytes. A growing body of evidence suggests that vitamin D deficiency may adversely affect the cardiovascular system, but data

High glucose‐ and acid‐responsive hydrogel with dynamic covalent bond solubilized with flavonoids (Gel‐Flavonoids) is designed for diabetic wound healing. The Gel‐Flavonoids adapt to irregular wound shapes and release antioxidants in high‐glucose environments, effectively reducing reactive oxygen species.
