Timing of conceptions in Phayre's leaf monkeys: Energy and phytochemical intake

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 183, Issue 2, February 2024.
Conceptions in Phayre's leaf monkeys cluster during months when progestin metabolites in feces were high—likely related to phytochemical intake. Periods of presumed high energy intake (based on fruit and leaf feeding) were not decisive, the energy intake did not vary significantly across months.
