Vitrectomy in Experimental Uveitis
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1979• Lensectomy-vitrectomy in rabbit eyes with acute protein-induced uveitis provokes severe postoperative inflammation. LENSECTOMY—VITRECTOMY IN CHRONIC UVEITIS
Retina, 1983Abstract: Cataract extraction in patients with chronic uveitis may be hazardous. Although its indications are relatively unfrequent, vitrectomy may be justified in certain types of uveitis. It allows differential diagnosis between vitreal inflammation and infection, accurate diagnosis in several metastatic conditions, Whipple disease with ocular involvement, amyloidosis and specific inflammations of various origin.
