Ocriplasmin in the treatment of vitreomacular traction – for
SummaryEnzymatic vitreolysis for the treatment of vitreomacular traction (VMT) and small macular holes with traction instead of pars plana vitrectomy is a hot debate currently.Ocriplasmin may give a fast and easy solution to the VMT and small macular holes with traction with minimal patient's discomfort and only trasient side effects.Pars plana ...

[Vitreomacular Traction Syndrome (VMTS)].
In vitreomacular traction syndrome (VMTS) an anomalous posterior vitreous detachment (APVD) with persistant symptomatic vitreoretinal adhesion is seen. The adhesion leads to a thickened macula, to macular oedema and a reduction of BCVA.

Vitreomacular Traction Syndrome (VMTS)
Vitreomacular traction (VMT) syndrome is characterized by an abnormal vitreous adherence to the macula due to incomplete posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). The resulting traction produces morphological changes of the macula.

Interpreting the structure–function relationship in high myopia‐associated glaucoma: A review
Abstract Visual field (VF) interpretation in high myopia‐associated glaucoma (HMG) is challenging due to frequent structure–function discordance and coexisting myopia‐related changes. These changes may reduce the reliability of conventional structure–function mapping and increase the risk of misclassifying non‐glaucomatous VF abnormalities as ...

The expanding spectrum of vitreomacular traction
Vitreomacular traction (VMT) syndrome is characterized as a partial detachment of the posterior vitreous with persistent adherence to the macula. The dynamic process associated with macular traction may induce a variety of macular conditions including cystoid macular edema (CME), epiretinal membranes (ERM), and macular hole formation.Dilated fundus ...

Abstract Purpose Fovea‐sparing geographic atrophy (GA) patients retain near‐normal central vision. To better understand GA progression in relation to the fovea, we performed a semi‐automated image analysis of regional atrophy growth in a long‐term GA natural‐history cohort. Methods Prospective‐observational, single‐centre‐study (02/2013–07/2025) at the

Abstract Purpose Multiple factors play a role in epiretinal membrane (ERM) formation and appear to affect the risk of ERM surgery. We explored whether the use of common systemic and topical medications is associated with ERM surgery in Finland. Methods The main outcome variable was incidence of surgically treated vision‐threatening epiretinal membrane (

INTRAVITREAL INJECTION OF AIR FOR THE TREATMENT OF VITREOMACULAR TRACTION
To study the efficacy of a single intravitreal injection of air as a valuable alternative to current treatment options (conservative, pharmacological, and surgical) in patients with symptomatic, focal vitreomacular ...
