Evaluation of the levofloxacin release characters from a rabbit foldable capsular vitreous body

open access: yesInternational Journal of Nanomedicine, 2011
The authors have manufactured a novel rabbit foldable capsular vitreous body (FCVB). The aim of this study was to determine whether this rabbit FCVB can release levofloxacin in vitro and in vivo, and to evaluate the release characteristics. In vitro, the

The Formation of Solar System Analogs in Young Star Clusters

open access: yes, 2018
The Solar system was once rich in the short-lived radionuclide (SLR) $^{26}$Al\, but deprived in $^{60}$Fe. Several models have been proposed to explain these anomalous abundances in SLRs, but none has been set within a self-consistent framework of the ...

The cholesterol‐HDL‐glucose (CHG) index and traditional adiposity markers in predicting diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
This study explores the association of visceral adiposity index (VAI) and lipid accumulation product (LAP), markers of visceral adiposity, with diabetic nephropathy and retinopathy. The findings revealed that VAI and LAP values were significantly elevated in diabetic nephropathy but showed no significant association with diabetic retinopathy.

Scanning transmission electron tomography to study virus assembly: Review for the retirement of Paul Walther

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract In this short and popular review, we summarise some of our findings analysing the replication cycles of large DNA viruses using scanning transmission electron tomography (STEM tomography) that we applied in the laboratory of Paul Walther. It is also a tribute to a very kind and expert scientist, who recently retired.
