ABSTRACT Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation is a major risk factor for cataract development, but the molecular mechanisms underlying this process, particularly the involvement of regulated cell death pathways such as ferroptosis, remain unclear. Transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analyses were performed on lens tissues from UVB‐induced cataract rat ...

Light-induced disassembly of dusty bodies in inner protoplanetary discs: implications for the formation of planets [PDF]
Laboratory experiments show that a solid-state greenhouse effect in combination with thermophoresis can efficiently erode a dust bed in a low-pressure gaseous environment.

Nile Red‐loaded poly(solketal acrylate) nanoparticles enable fluorescence tracking and exhibit nontoxic profiles in retinal cells. Enhanced cellular uptake and deep retinal penetration after intravitreal injection highlight their excellent potential for targeted ocular drug delivery to the posterior segment of the eye.

Kafirin structure and functionality [PDF]
The structural and functional properties of kafirins are reviewed. Three classes of kafirin: the a, ß and ? forms have been identified at the protein level and one, the d, has been identified only at the gene and transcript levels.

Biodegradable Natural Polymer‐Based Drug Delivery Systems for Bone Tissue Engineering
ABSTRACT The increasing incidence of bone diseases and injuries, especially among aging populations, has underscored the shortcomings of traditional treatments such as bone grafts and metal implants, which often face complications including immune rejection, mechanical failure, and delayed healing.

We systematically summarize how each scale dictates fundamental choices in design feature, manufacturing technology, driving mechanism, and control strategy, which are inherently governed by scale‐dominated physical principles. Furthermore, the application of scale‐determined operation modes of microrobots across different stages of medical ...

Suprachoroidal and Subretinal Injections of AAV Using Transscleral Microneedles for Retinal Gene Delivery in Nonhuman Primates. [PDF]
Retinal gene therapy using adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) is constrained by the mode of viral vector delivery. Intravitreal AAV injections are impeded by the internal limiting membrane barrier, while subretinal injections require invasive surgery and ...

Abstract Understanding the dynamics of DNA methylation (DNAm) post‐mortem could support forensic applications, particularly the estimation of the post‐mortem interval (PMI), age, and sex of remains. In this study, we investigated DNAm changes in pig carcasses (Sus scrofa) as analogs for human decomposition, while measuring the progression of decay ...

Optical coherent tomography in diagnoses of peripheral retinal degenarations
Purpose: Studying the capabilities of optical coherence tomography (RTVue-100, OPTOVUE, USA) in evaluation of peripheral retinal degenerations, vitreoretinal adhesions, adjacent vitreous body as well as measurement of morphometric data. Methods: The study
