Vehicular VLC System With Selection Combining

IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2022
The availability of LED-based headlights and taillights makes possible the use of visible light communication (VLC) as a wireless access technology for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications. A critical concern to establish a reliable VLC link between two moving vehicles is the number of photodetectors and their locations on the destination vehicle ...

Position of light sources for VLC

2017 19th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2017
White LED diodes are increasingly used. Thanks their features they are also used for illumination and gradually replace the classical light bulbs and fluorescent tubes. The one of advantages of white LED diodes is their availability for the Visible Light Communication. This article deals with study of suitable placing of light sources for indoor.

Antimicrobial Properties of VLC Liners

Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, 1990
The antimicrobial activity of several visible light cured glass ionomer and liner materials against three bacteria commonly found in the oral cavity is discussed. Vitrabond light cure glass ionomer produced zones of inhibition against all the bacteria tested in this study.

The future of VLC

Proceedings of the 1st ACM MobiCom workshop on Visible light communication systems, 2014
Visible light communication (VLC) is based on modulating inexpensive LEDs that are simultaneously used for illumination. This dual-use approach can offer energy-efficient connectivity as well as high throughput due to the huge unregulated optical spectrum.

VLC-IR Dual Switching Transmission System for VLC Sensor Networks

2020 International Conference on Electronics, Information, and Communication (ICEIC), 2020
In this paper, we study the dual transmission technique which uses visible light communication and IR in visible light communication IoT system. Conventional visible light communication has a problem that the communication is disconnected when visible light does not reach directly or when a shadow region occurs due to an obstacle.

Hybrid RF and VLC Systems: Improving User Data Rate Performance of VLC Systems

2015 IEEE 81st Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2015
A hybrid radio frequency (RF) and visible light communication (VLC) system is considered. A hybrid system with multiple VLC access points (APs) and RF APs is designed and compared. In indoor environments, VLC APs can provide very high data rates whilst satisfying illumination requirements, and RF APs can offer ubiquitous coverage. Even though very high

VLC: Beyond point-to-point communication

IEEE Communications Magazine, 2014
Due to the large growth of mobile communications over the past two decades, cellular systems have resorted to fuller and denser reuse of bandwidth to cope with the growing demand. On one hand, this approach raises the achievable system capacity. On the other hand, however, the increased interference caused by the dense spatial reuse inherently limits ...

Development and testing of an indoor VLC simulator

2015 4th International Workshop on Optical Wireless Communications (IWOW), 2015
This work reports the development of a MATLABĀ® simulation tool for the indoor VLC channel characterization. In addition to the evaluation of the light level and the impulse responses in any point of the simulation volume, the modeling of the various sources of disturbance (sunlight, skylight, general illumination devices and interfering ones) is also ...

The Interpretation and Building of VLC

2012 International Conference on Industrial Control and Electronics Engineering, 2012
Virtual Learning Community, as a kind of Virtual Community, has become a hot research in recent years. This article introduces the Virtual Community first of all, and then focuses on the definition and essential characteristics of VLC. Finally, discusses building a VLC by using P2P technologies to achieve self-study and research-study of constructivism
