Kaon-Soliton Bound State Approach to the Pentaquark States [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We show that in hidden local symmetry theory with the vector manifestation (VM), a K^+ can be bound to skyrmion to give the Theta^+ pentaquark with spin 1/2 and even parity which is consistent with large N_c counting.

Dilepton Production from Dropping rho in the Vector Manifestation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this write-up we summarize the main result of our analysis on the thermal dilepton production rate from the dropping rho based on the vector manifestation (VM). In the analysis, we showed that the effect of the strong violation of the vector dominance

Post-castration variations in weight gain in a cohort of young adult male cats*

open access: yesJournal of Nutritional Science, 2014
The predisposition of cats to gain weight following neutering is well established; however, there is little information about the distribution and range of post-neutering weight gains observed in cats under a controlled environment.

Circulating histones as clinical biomarkers in critically ill conditions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circulating histones are emerging as promising biomarkers in critical illness due to their diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic potential. Detection methods such as ELISA and mass spectrometry provide reliable approaches for quantifying histone levels in plasma samples.

Spatiotemporal evolution, mineralogical composition, and transport mechanisms of long-runout landslides in Valles Marineris, Mars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Long-runout landslides with transport distances of >50 km are ubiquitous in Valles Marineris (VM), yet the transport mechanisms remain poorly understood.

CT scan diagnosis of hepatic adenoma in a case of von Gierke disease

open access: yesIndian Journal of Radiology and Imaging, 2012
Hepatic adenoma is a well-defined, benign, solitary tumor of the liver. In individuals with glycogen storage disease I, adenoma tends to occur at a relatively younger age and can be multiple (adenomatosis).

Inhibitor of DNA binding‐1 is a key regulator of cancer cell vasculogenic mimicry

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated expression of transcriptional regulator inhibitor of DNA binding 1 (ID1) promoted cancer cell‐mediated vasculogenic mimicry (VM) through regulation of pro‐angiogenic and pro‐cancerous genes (e.g. VE‐cadherin (CDH5), TIE2, MMP9, DKK1). Higher ID1 expression also increased metastases to the lung and the liver.

A Novel DCL2-Dependent Micro-Like RNA Vm-PC-3p-92107_6 Affects Pathogenicity by Regulating the Expression of Vm-VPS10 in Valsa mali

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
Dicer proteins are mainly responsible for generating small RNAs (sRNAs), which are involved in gene silencing in most eukaryotes. In previous research, two DCL proteins in Valsa mali, the pathogenic fungus causing apple tree Valsa canker, were found ...

Auction-Based VM Allocation for Deadline-Sensitive Tasks in Distributed Edge Cloud

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Services Computing, 2019
Edge cloud computing is a new paradigm in which the computation and storage services of remote cloud data centers are moved to Edge Cloud Nodes (ECNs) in network edges.

Tonic signaling of the B‐cell antigen‐specific receptor is a common functional hallmark in chronic lymphocytic leukemia cell phosphoproteomes at early disease stages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...
