A novel similarity measure for bag-of-words type large scale image retrieval is presented. The similarity function is learned in an unsupervised manner, requires no extra space over the standard bag-of-words method and is more discriminative than both L2-based soft assignment and Hamming embedding.

Vocabulary learning strategies and beliefs about vocabulary learning
2018<p>This dissertation study was motivated by an interest in the process of acquisition of Russian vocabulary by a previously unstudied group of learners, American university students. The study identified the vocabulary learning strategies and beliefs about vocabulary learning of 97 university students beginning to study Russian.
