A proposal for epithelial dominance in extremely high fundamental frequency vocalizations

In this hypothesis article, we explore the upper limit of the fundamental frequency in vocalization. Most mammalian vocalizations are produced by airflow-induced, self-sustained vibration of vocal folds, with fundamental frequency being determined by multiple tissue layers in the folds, including muscle, ligament, and epithelial tissues.

GloPath: An Entity‐Centric Foundation Model for Glomerular Lesion Assessment and Clinicopathological Insights

An entity‐centric foundation model, GloPath, is introduced for comprehensive glomerular lesion assessment from routine renal biopsy images. Southern Amazonia is one of the less-explored regions by anuran taxonomists. We describe a small new species of snouted treefrog, genus Scinax, from this region, from a fluvial archipelago in the Juruena River, state of Mato Grosso, Brazil.
