The Needham Question and the Anthropological Dimension of the Biblical Worldview [PDF]
The main judgement confirms the Needham question importance yet argues Needham’s explanation, showing some inconsistence of its main idea that European Scientific revolution occurred finally due to implying the concept of Creator standing behind Nature ...

Oblicza świętości Ottona z Bambergu i płynące z nich przesłania dla współczesnych ludzi
The aim of this presentation was to show the value of the holiness of Otto of Bamberg for the modern generation of people. The implementation of such a goal could not fail to begin with the disclosure of the supernatural conditions of holiness, i.e.

ABSTRACT Purpose Next‐generation sequencing (NGS) has emerged as a promising approach to improve diagnostic accuracy, but its feasibility in low‐ and middle‐income countries remains unknown. This study characterized the diagnostic landscape and assessed organizational readiness for NGS implementation at two childhood cancer treatment centers in Accra ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Effects of Sophorolipids on the Structure and Properties of Zein-Quercetin Nanoparticles
In this study, zein-quercetin (Zein-Q) nanoparticles were prepared and the effects of sophorolipids (SL) on the structure of Zein-Q nanoparticles were evaluated based on the combination of scanning electron microscopy, Fourier infrared spectroscopy and ...

Vocational guidance and vocational counsellors (1920)
Abstract This classic essay—‘Berufsberatung und Berufsberater’ by Aloys Fischer (1880–1937) is here published for the first time in English, in a translation by Christopher Winch. Fischer discusses the vocational situation after the end of the First World War and considers the needs of young people seeking to choose an occupation in ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Preparation of sludge-based activated carbon and its application for phosphorus adsorption
Dehydrated sludge and digested sludge were used as raw materials, ZnCl2, H2SO4 and KOH were used as activators to prepare sludge biochar, with iodine adsorption value as the evaluation index.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
