Compositions and decompositions of binary relations [PDF]
It is well-known that to every binary relation on a non-void set I there can be assigned its incidence matrix, also in the case when I is infinite. We show that a certain kind of "multiplication" of such incidence matrices corresponds to the composition of the corresponding relations. Using this fact we investigate the solvability of the equation R o X

Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

A numerical scheme is presented to design a lattice support for metallic components additively built via laser powder bed fusion. Results show that thermal‐induced distortion can be respectively reduced by 69%, 58%, and 50% in comparison to a uniform lattice, a fully solid support, and a truss‐based lattice support.

BI-LAYER HYBRID BIOCOMPOSITES: CHEMICAL RESISTANT AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Bi-layer hybrid biocomposites were fabricated by hand lay-up technique by reinforcing oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) and jute fibre mats with epoxy matrix. Hybrid composites were prepared by varying the relative weight fraction of the two fibres.

As manufacturing defects, voids in wind turbine blades may cause damage under fatigue loads. In this paper, the internal energy storage is used as an indicator to identify the critical moment when a defect evolves into damage.

This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

The Effects of Superheating Treatment on Distribution of Eutectic Silicon Particles in A357-Continuous Stainless Steel Composite [PDF]
In the present study, superheating treatment has been applied on A357 reinforced with 0.5 wt. % (Composite 1) and 1.0 wt.% (Composite 2) continuous stainless steel composite. In Composite 1 the microstructure displayed poor bonding between matrix and reinforcement interface. Poor bonding associated with large voids also can be seen in Composite 1.

Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′

A model for shape memory alloys with the possibility of voids [PDF]
The paper is devoted to the study of a mathematical model for the thermomechanical evolution of metallic shape memory alloys. The main novelty of our approach consists in the fact that we include the possibility for these materials to exhibit voids during the phase change process. Indeed, in the engineering paper has been recently proved that voids may
