Oil‐Coated Nanoplastics Induce Rapid Membrane Disruption and Severe Intestinal Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oil‐rich food contact dramatically amplifies MNP release from plastic takeout containers, producing oil‐coated nanoplastics with altered surface properties and rapid membrane‐disruptive effects. These particles cause severe intestinal barrier damage and immune dysfunction in mice, and risk modeling suggests that long‐term gastrointestinal burdens may ...

Single‐Cell Dissection of Tumor‐Infiltrating Lymphocytes Reveals Cellular Architecture Predictive of Therapeutic Efficacy in Acral Melanoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Autologous tumor‐infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy shows promising efficacy in acral melanoma, yet determinants of durable response remain unclear. By integrating single‐cell transcriptomics and TCR sequencing, this study reveals that TIL products enriched for T follicular helper and intermediate exhausted T cells establish persistent clonal ...

Acral (volar—subungual) melanoma

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1985
Abstract Acral melanoma occurs in the volar surface of the hands, feet, fingers, toes and subungual sites. Recently it has been recognized as a distinct entity with characteristic clinical and pathological features. Of our 340 patients with malignant melanoma, 24 (7 per cent) had acral melanoma.

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cancer immunotherapy faces challenges in predicting treatment responses and understanding resistance mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offer powerful solutions for cancer immunotherapy in patient stratification, biomarker discovery, treatment strategy optimization, and foundation model development.

Multimodal Wearable Biosensing Meets Multidomain AI: A Pathway to Decentralized Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multimodal biosensing meets multidomain AI. Wearable biosensors capture complementary biochemical and physiological signals, while cross‐device, population‐aware learning aligns noisy, heterogeneous streams. This Review distills key sensing modalities, fusion and calibration strategies, and privacy‐preserving deployment pathways that transform ...

What Else Can We Use? Alternative Fixation Methods of the Volar Lunate Facet Fracture of the Distal Radius

open access: yesJournal of Hand Surgery Global Online
Purpose: The anatomy of the “critical corner” in volar lunate facet fractures makes achieving fixation difficult, and standard precontoured volar locking plates may be limited in certain fracture patterns.

PIK3CA Mutations Downregulate PPT1 to Promote Adipogenesis by Suppressing P300 Depalmitoylation and Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that somatic PIK3CA mutations suppress PPT1 expression via activation of the PI3K–AKT–c‐JUN axis. This reduction in PPT1 weakens its interaction with P300, thereby increasing palmitoylation at C1176 of P300 and protecting P300 from lysosomal degradation.

The determination of the operating range of a twin-grip control yoke through biomechanical means [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
A twin-grip control yoke was designed as an ergonomic case study that allows dual axis control inputs, both axes being rotational. Inputs are effected by rotating the grips.

Arthroscopic Volar Capsuloligamentous Repair [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Wrist Surgery, 2013
Background The palmar aspect of the capsuloligamentous complex of the wrist is relatively inaccessible to surgery through an open approach. An all-inside arthroscopic suturing technique is presented that allows suturing of the palmar scapholunate or lunotriquetral ligaments or plication of the space of Poirier.

Highly Aligned Bacteria Cellulose Yarn Aggregation for Energy Generation and Strain Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Although high‐performance bacterial cellulose fibers have attracted significant interest for wearable electronics, a self‐powered and high‐mechanosensitive design is still scarce for achieving an intelligent integrated system. Here, we demonstrate an innovative bio‐fabrication strategy to develop a core‐sheath yarn that features the ordered network and
