GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Applications of fractional stochastic volatility models to market microstructure theory and optimal execution strategies

open access: yesFrontiers in Applied Mathematics and Statistics
In this paper, we explore the applications of fractional stochastic volatility (FSV) models within the realm of market microstructure theory and optimal execution strategies. FSV models extend traditional stochastic volatility frameworks by incorporating

Volatility Clustering in U.S. Home Prices [PDF]

open access: yes
Generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedasticity (GARCH) effects imply the probability of large losses is greater than standard mean-variance analysis suggests.

The Mind From Within: Visceral Roots of Human Cognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The physiological activity of visceral organs, such as the heart, the lungs, and the gut, is surprisingly linked to many sophisticated mental operations, such as remembering the past, being aware of ourselves, making choices, and forging social bonds.

EVALUATING THE PERFORMANCE OF GARCH FAMILY MODELS IN ESTIMATING INVESTMENT RISK AND VOLATILITY: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF SENSEX AND NIFTY INDEX IN INDIA [PDF]

open access: yesAnalele Universităţii Constantin Brâncuşi din Târgu Jiu : Seria Economie
In order to evaluate and estimate significant aspects of time series data, various models with varying degrees of variation have been built in the last few years.

On the Determinants of House Value Volatility [PDF]

open access: yes
Few studies have analyzed the determinants of house value volatility at the level of individual houses. This paper uses two panels of the American Housing Survey covering 1974-2003 to test four hypotheses related to the determinants of house value ...

Two‐Dimensional Triferroics: From Fundamental Couplings to Multifunctional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This graphic summarizes the three main types of currently reported 2D triferroic couplings. From the structural perspective, existing systems can be broadly classified into two categories, which exhibit distinct symmetry features and coupling behaviors. Beyond the lattice difference, a third type involves the interplay among ferroelectricity, magnetism,

Rental Price Adjustment, Volatility and Clustering

open access: yes, 2013
Since last decades, researchers and practitioners became more and more interested in strategically allocating real estate assets in regions with common features instead of viewing each individual market separately. They conducted researches to develop their own classification systems which can be used in this strategic asset allocation process ...

Volatility Models : from GARCH to Multi-Horizon Cascades [PDF]

open access: yes
We overview different methods of modeling volatility of stock prices and exchange rates, focusing on their ability to reproduce the empirical properties in the corresponding time series. The properties of price fluctuations vary across the time scales of
