Comparative study on volcanic hydrocarbon accumulations in western and eastern China and its significance

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2009
Volcanic hydrocarbon accumulations in eastern and western China have both generality and discrepancy. The common features are as follows: their source-reservoir-caprock association is a near-source type; their reservoir properties are little affected by ...

Volcanic and sedimentary processes in phreatomagmatic volcanoes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Phreatomagmatic volcanoes form when ascending magma explosively interacts with surface or groundwater at shallow depths. Three types of phreatomagmatic activity are recognised- phreaticp phreatomagmatic (s. s. ) and surtseyan - based on the degree of

Formation and distribution of volcanic hydrocarbon reservoirs in sedimentary basins of China

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2008
Volcanic hydrocarbon exploration in China has experienced three phases: accidental discovery, local prospecting, and all-round exploration. There are mainly Carboniferous-Permian, Jurassic-Cretaceous, Paleogene-Neogene volcanic rocks and lava ...

7000 Years of Aboriginal Mining at Sugarloaf Hill in the Riverland Region of South Australia

open access: yesArchaeology in Oceania, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silcrete and chert are commonly represented in Aboriginal archaeological lithic assemblages across large parts of the southwestern Murray‐Darling Basin (MDB). In South Australia (SA), these materials were sourced from a series of quarries located along the incised course of the Murray River through the upper Riverland region.

Effect of microfabrics on uniaxial strength of weathered volcanic rocks from Tawau, Sabah [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper discusses the effect of micro-fabrics on uniaxial strength of weathered volcanic rocks from Tawau, Sabah. Volcanic rocks consist of basalt and andesite, aged from Pliocene to Quaternary.

137Cs in volcanic rocks.

open access: yesGEOCHEMICAL JOURNAL, 1977
A non-destructive gamma-ray spectrometry was applied to a number of volcanic products from Japan. Considerable amounts of 137Cs (∼10-13Ci/g) were determined in some volcanic rocks. The presence of 137Cs does not appear to have any relation to the type, age and spatial distribution of the volcanic rocks.
