Volcanic and sedimentary processes in phreatomagmatic volcanoes [PDF]
Phreatomagmatic volcanoes form when ascending magma explosively interacts with surface or groundwater at shallow depths. Three types of phreatomagmatic activity are recognised- phreaticp phreatomagmatic (s. s. ) and surtseyan - based on the degree of

7000 Years of Aboriginal Mining at Sugarloaf Hill in the Riverland Region of South Australia
ABSTRACT Silcrete and chert are commonly represented in Aboriginal archaeological lithic assemblages across large parts of the southwestern Murray‐Darling Basin (MDB). Identifying the volcanic eruption depicted in a Neolithic Painting at Çatalhöyük, Central Anatolia, Turkey [PDF]
A mural excavated at the Neolithic Çatalhöyük site (Central Anatolia, Turkey) has been interpreted as the oldest known map. Dating to ~6600 BCE, it putatively depicts an explosive summit eruption of the Hasan Dağı twin-peaks volcano located ~130 km ...

A non-destructive gamma-ray spectrometry was applied to a number of volcanic products from Japan. Considerable amounts of 137Cs (∼10-13Ci/g) were determined in some volcanic rocks. The presence of 137Cs does not appear to have any relation to the type, age and spatial distribution of the volcanic rocks.
