Features of seismic events and volcanic tremor during the preliminary stages of the 1991-1993 eruption of Mt. Etna

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1996
The study of the spectral features of volcanic tremor and low frequency events (l.f.e.) recorded before and during the preliminary phases of the powerful 1991-1993 eruption of Mt. Etna is briefly described.

The spatial amplitude distribution of volcanic tremor at Stromboli volcano (Italy)

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1996
A portable seismic station consisting of a three-component seismometer in conjunction with a spectral analyzer was deployed in May and June 1994 to record volcanic tremor in a wide area on Stromboli. For the reduction of path effects, tremor spectra were

Tremor and its duration‐amplitude distribution at Popocatépetl volcano, Mexico

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2016
The duration‐amplitude distribution was calculated for the tremor observed at Popocatépetl volcano during episodes of activity in 2000 and 2012–2014. An exponential function was used to obtain a good fit for the duration‐amplitude distribution, and the ...

Helicopter vs. volcanic tremor: Characteristic features of seismic harmonic tremor on volcanoes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Volcanology and Geothermal Research, 2015
Abstract We recorded high-frequency (> 10 Hz) harmonic tremor with spectral gliding at Hekla Volcano in Iceland. Particle motion plots indicated a shallow tremor source. We observed up to two overtones beneath our Nyquist frequency of 50 Hz and could resolve a source of closely spaced pulses of very short duration (0.03-0.1 s) on zoomed seismograms ...

Temporal variation in source location of continuous tremors before ash–gas emissions in January 2014 at Aso volcano, Japan

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2018
Volcanic tremor is often observed to be associated with an increase in volcanic activity and during periods approaching eruptions. It is therefore of crucial importance to study this phenomenon.

Seismic monitoring of Campi Flegrei and Vesuvius by stand-alone instruments

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2015
A seismic network of more than 20 broad band stations and two arrays of 10 short period stations each, all working in local acquisition mode, are used to improve the seismic monitoring of Campi Flegrei and Vesuvius for research purposes. Data provided by

ZNF33B Promotes Japanese Encephalitis Virus Infection by Regulating the Stability of M6A‐Modified Trim25 to Control the Autophagy Process

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Upon JEV infection, ZNF33B recruits METTL14 to stabilize the METTL3‐METTL14 m6A methyltransferase complex, leading to increased m6A modification of host transcripts, including Trim25 mRNA. ZNF33B selectively binds m6A‐modified sites on Trim25 mRNA and accelerates its decay, resulting in reduced TRIM25 protein abundance.

Volcanic tremor associated with eruptive activity at Bromo volcano

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 1999
Three broadband stations were deployed on Bromo volcano, Indonesia, from September to December 1995. The analysis of the seismograms shows that the signals produced by the volcanic sources cover the frequency range from at least 25 Hz down to periods of ...

Long-duration seismicity and their relation to Copahue volcano unrest

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2022
Understanding seismic tremor wavefields can shed light on the complex functioning of a volcanic system and, thus, improve volcano monitoring systems.

Introducing Borsantrazole: A Trifunctional Boron‐Based Pyrazole That Extends the Lifespan of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein we report a boron‐based pyrazole, (Borsantrazole ‐ a small molecule that selectively targets oxidative stress) that significantly increases survival, reduces weight loss, delays disease onset, and affects global protein changes in the SOD1‐G37R mouse model of ALS.
