Voltage-controlled crystal oscillators
IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, 1971The quartz crystal oscillator is normally thought of as a stable generator of a fixed frequency. It is possible, however, to design and construct voltage tunable quartz crystal oscillators that can be electrically tuned over a frequency range on the order of ±0.3 percent of the crystal frequency.

Memristor‐based voltage‐controlled relaxation oscillators
International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2013SUMMARYThis paper introduces two voltage‐controlled memristor‐based reactance‐less oscillators with analytical and circuit simulations. Two different topologies which are R‐M and M‐R are discussed as a function of the reference voltage where the generalized formulas of the oscillation frequency and conditions for oscillation for each topology are ...

DCS1800/WCDMA adaptive voltage-controlled oscillator
2004 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37512), 2004The ever-increasing demands or telecom services that require a higher cellular capacity and a higher data rate have pushed the wireless industry towards the development of wide-band, third-generation wireless systems. On the other hand, as there is a number of applications that are comfortably served by second-generation systems, for maximum ...

Multi-time simulation of voltage-controlled oscillators
Proceedings 1999 Design Automation Conference (Cat. No. 99CH36361), 1999We present a novel formulation. Called the WaMPDE, for solving systems with forced autonomous components. An important feature of the WaMPDE is its ability to capture frequency modulation (FM) in a natural and compact manner. This is made possible by a key new concept: that of warped time, related to normal time through separate time scales.

Multi-Mode Wideband Voltage Controlled Oscillators
2006 13th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2006Communication systems rely on stable VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) to maintain phase-locked conditions and ensure transmitted data integrity. Many third and later generation systems require multi-mode or multi-band signal sources (VCOs) to cover their bandwidth requirement.

Wideband Voltage Controlled Oscillator
2013In this chapter, we explore techniques to increase the tuning-range of VCOs while maintaining adequate phase noise and power dissipation performance over the tuning range. Two popular oscillator architectures: LC tank based, and ring based, are considered for SDR signaling and spectrum scanning applications.

Exponentially tunable voltage controlled quadrature oscillator
2017 40th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2017This paper deals with appropriate method of tunability extension in quadrature oscillators. Exponential dependence of frequency of oscillations on DC control voltage is created in lossless integrators by utilization of two exponentially controlled variable gain amplifiers and diamond transistors.

Voltage-controlled M-M relaxation oscillator
2016 IEEE 59th International Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems (MWSCAS), 2016This paper discusses voltage-controlled M-M relaxation oscillator with analytical and circuit simulations. The introduced circuit has two different configurations based on the polarities of memristor; whether they are in the same direction or in the opposite direction.

Ku band voltage controlled oscillator on SiGe
APCCAS 2008 - 2008 IEEE Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems, 2008In this paper the design and test of a monolithic VCO implemented in a 0.25 mum SiGe technology is presented. The oscillator frequency is changing from 12 till 16 GHz when the control voltage changes from 0 to 2 V. The output power is -10 dBm @ 50 Omega. The total power consumption is 40 mW but 70% is to supply the output buffer amplifier.
