CMOS voltage reference based on threshold voltage and thermal voltage
Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 2009A fully CMOS based voltage reference circuit is presented in this paper. The voltage reference circuit uses the difference between gate-to-source voltages of two MOSFETs operating in the weak-inversion region to generate the voltage with positive temperature coefficient. The reference voltage can be obtained by combining this voltage difference and the

High Voltage Versus Low Voltage
Physical Therapy, 1986To the Editor: The conclusions stated in the article “High Voltage Versus Low Voltage Electrical Stimulation: Force of Induced Muscle Contraction and Perceived Discomfort in Healthy Subjects” (Physical Therapy 66:1209–1214, 1986) contradict an extensive body of literature1–5 that suggests that optimal pulse duration for neuromuscular stimulation in ...

Most of the treatment in the text so far covered the special case of the transfer function which happened to be the impedance one. In that case, input is current and output is voltage. While that is one of the most relevant cases in circuit theory, it by no means is the only one!

In this description of the manufacturing processes for suspension insulators, from design and research to finished product, is given a comprehensive list of the laboratory equipment required for adequate testing. Methods of testing for defects and the manner of assembly are sketched, and the need for further standardization is mentioned.

Integrated multivalue voltage-to-voltage converter
ICECS'99. Proceedings of ICECS '99. 6th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.99EX357), 2003A charge pump circuit has been developed. It can give high voltage pulses for on-chip programming EEPROM. The charge pump circuit uses a symmetrical structure and is designed to offer two possible output voltages, power supply or alternatively triple power supply, which is needed for the memory cells we use.

Conversion of lines and substations to higher voltage has emerged in the industry as a viable alternative in meeting load growth or transmission requirements. This somewhat unconventional approach offers several advantages. Beyond the practical aspects such as use of available right-of-way and substation site, the economic advantages may be of ...

Threshold voltage based CMOS voltage reference
IEE Proceedings - Circuits, Devices and Systems, 2004The paper describes a CMOS voltage reference design that uses the temperature dependence of NMOS and PMOS threshold voltages to form a temperature-insensitive reference. No diodes or parasitic bipolar transistors are used. The circuit architecture accommodates a wide range of output voltages. A test chip is fabricated using a 0.5 /spl mu/m CMOS process.

Lack of voltage control is one of the objections which have been made to the use of rectifiers. The author describes a method of voltage control for rectifiers based on the use of a saturated core interphase transformer. Saturation of this device produces a gradual change from two three-phase rectifiers operating in parallel to one six-phase rectifier ...
