Effects of arc voltage on recovery voltage

Electrical Engineering, 1958
THE CHARACTERISTICS of the interrupting device may have an appreciable effect on the recovery voltage obtained on interrupting an a-c circuit. This effect may appear as (a) an abrupt cutting off of the current, (b) the introduction of an arc voltage, or (c) the gradual introduction of a resistance.

Using the Pull-In Voltage as Voltage Reference

2001
The reproducibility of the pull-in voltage of a single side clamped free-standing beam has been investigated for application as a DC voltage reference. A 2 mm long beam has been fabricated in an epipoly process with, at the tip, poly-poly electrodes extending into the axial direction for electrostatic lateral deflection and a comb-drive operating in ...

High Voltage Versus Low Voltage

Physical Therapy, 1986
To the Editor: The conclusions stated in the article “High Voltage Versus Low Voltage Electrical Stimulation: Force of Induced Muscle Contraction and Perceived Discomfort in Healthy Subjects” (Physical Therapy 66:1209–1214, 1986) contradict an extensive body of literature1–5 that suggests that optimal pulse duration for neuromuscular stimulation in ...

Voltage gradients on high-voltage lines

Electrical Engineering, 1955
AKNOWLEDGE of the voltage gradient which exists at the surface of a transmission-line conductor is necessary in many instances. This knowledge is especially important in studies regarding corona losses and radio interference.

Portable voltage regulator: An industrial solution for amending voltage in low voltage networks

2013 IEEE PES Conference on Innovative Smart Grid Technologies (ISGT Latin America), 2013
This article focuses on the developing of a Portable Voltage Regulator for Low Voltage Networks (PVRL VN), for single phase, two phases and three phases networks, which envisages meeting the regulations, given that the time established by the regulatory standards is a factor that limits the planning and the execution of corrective actions.

Voltage Sag Detection Technique for a Dynamic Voltage Restorer

IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2003
Dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs) are used to protect sensitive loads from the effects of voltage sags on the distribution feeder. This paper presents and verifies a novel voltage sag detection technique for use in conjunction with the main control system of a DVR.

Voltage regulation optimization in low voltage network based on Voltage Quality Index

Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Scientific Conference on Electric Power Engineering (EPE), 2014
The paper deals with an optimization procedure in terms of a network voltage parameters improvement. A software based approach is used to select optimal type of voltage regulator, its power and ideal location for application in a Low-Voltage (LV) test network, where it is required to enhance Voltage Quality (VQ).

Study on voltage compensation method of voltage stabilizer of voltage dependent load on ship

2019 IEEE 10th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG), 2019
The fluctuation of the voltage of the ship grid can influence the stability of the voltage dependent load. Two new voltage compensation methods that are reactive power compensation method and active power compensation method are based on the structure and voltage compensation method of dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) and characteristics of the ship ...
