Topological quantum codes from self-complementary self-dual graphs

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we present two new classes of binary quantum codes with minimum distance of at least three, by self-complementary self-dual orientable embeddings of voltage graphs and Paley graphs in the Galois field GF(pr), where p is a prime number and r

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The methodology of corona air ionizer usage when correcting the indoor air ion composition

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2012
There is a need of the solution of two inconsistent tasks connected with features of technical characteristics assignment when using electrical corona air ionizers for correction of air ion composition.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Passivity‐Based Control of Quadratic Boost Converter: An Experimental Case Study

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
This paper introduces a high‐gain voltage quadratic boost converter (QBC) and for control presents a non‐linear control method based on introduction and damping assignment passivity based control (IDA‐PBC) to regulate it.

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Stack Aware Threshold Voltage Assignment in 3-D Multicore Designs

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Systems, 2012
Due to the inherent nature of heat flow in 3-D integrated circuits, stacked dies exhibit a wide range of thermal characteristics. The temperature of dies progressively increases with increasing distance from the heat sink. This heterogeneous temperature profile coupled with the strong dependence of leakage on temperature and process variation plays ...

Sparse Automatic Differentiation for Large-Scale Computations Using Abstract Elementary Algebra

open access: yes, 2015
Most numerical solvers and libraries nowadays are implemented to use mathematical models created with language-specific built-in data types (e.g. real in Fortran or double in C) and their respective elementary algebra implementations.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...
